Balaji Tea Point

This tea stall is located at H.No. 1-7-18/19 in Kadakpura. It is right in the New Bowenpally area of Secunderabad. We open up very early in the morning when it is still dark outside. The first thing we do is light the stove and get the milk boiling. We have a large brass pot for the tea. The smell of ginger and cardamom fills the street. People on their way to work stop by for a quick cup. We also keep some biscuits and buns in glass jars. The benches are old and a bit shaky, but people do not seem to mind. They sit and talk about the news or their families. We see the same faces every single day. The walls are a bit stained from the steam and smoke. It is a small space, so it gets crowded during the morning rush. We wash the glasses in a bucket of water behind the counter. My brother helps me when it gets busy. We do not have a menu card. Everyone knows what we have. Sometimes we make snacks like samosas in the afternoon. The rain makes things a bit messy because the roof leaks a little in the corner. We just put a bucket under it. It is a simple life. We do not try to be anything other than a place for a good cup of tea. It is nice when the customers say the tea is hot enough.
