We are located in the Uday Industrial Estate, just a short walk from the Odhav Police Station. Being in this part of Ahmedabad means there is always a lot of noise from the nearby workshops and trucks moving in and out. Standarad Engineering has been operating out of this same spot for quite some time. We have got some old lathes and a couple of newer machines that take up most of the floor space. It is a bit greasy, but that is part of the job when you are fixing parts or making new ones from scratch. Our workers are mostly local guys who have been with us since we opened. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. Usually, people just drop by with a broken part or a drawing on a piece of paper. We look it over, tell them if we can do it, and get to work. The tea stall around the corner is where we spend our breaks. It gets hot in the summer, especially with the roof being what it is, but we keep the fans going. Odhav is a tough place to work sometimes because of the dust, but it is home for us. We just focus on getting the dimensions right and making sure the pieces fit like they should. Nothing more, nothing less. We keep the doors open for air whenever the weather allows it.
