Gumthala Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based out of Village Gumthala, specifically at house number 391. Amer Singh is the person we work with there, and his place has become the hub for our producer company. Being in Yamuna Nagar, we are surrounded by a lot of green, but it takes a lot of effort to keep it that way. We are just a bunch of neighbors who decided to pool our resources. Most days, you’ll find some of us sitting around Amer’s place, going over the accounts or just complaining about the cost of diesel. It’s a very local thing. We don't have any big signs or a shiny building. It’s just a house in the village where we get things done. The work is mostly about coordinating the harvest and making sure everyone has what they need for the next planting season. It’s a lot of physical labor and sometimes it feels like we are just barely keeping up with everything. But we’ve lived in Gumthala all our lives, and we don't know any other way to be. We are plain people, and we speak plainly. If something isn't working, we say so and try to fix it. We are just trying to make a go of it here in the village, keeping the farms running and making sure our community stays strong despite all the changes happening in the world outside. We just take it one day at a time.
