Kasharipara Farmer Producer Companylimited

Out here in Kasharipara, things move at their own pace. We are the Kasharipara Farmer Producer Companylimited and you can find us over at Holidayganj. The office is actually at Mostafizur Rahmau's place. It’s a group of us farmers from the West Garo Hills area trying to get things sorted with our crops and selling what we grow. Being a farmer in this part of Meghalaya means you’re always watching the sky and hoping the rain comes at the right time. We spend a lot of our days out in the fields or meeting up to talk about seeds and how the harvest is looking this year. It's not a big fancy operation with a lot of staff, just local people from the village who know the land. Sometimes the roads out here to 794104 aren't the best, especially when the monsoon hits hard, but we manage to get by. We focus on what we can grow in our soil and how to help each other out when things get tough. It's practical work. There's always something to fix or a field that needs more attention. We don't spend much time in the office if we can help it. Most of the real work happens outside in the heat. It’s just how we live and work around here in the West Garo Hills. It is a long way from the big cities, but the work here feels important to the community.
