You can find us over at Pilbath T Sangma’s place in Vill Rongram. We are the Chibasal Farmers Producer Company Limited. Our location is technically Lower Chandmari in the West Garo Hills, near 794002. It is mostly just a bunch of us who grow things in the surrounding hills getting together to handle the business side of farming. The hills are steep and the work is hard, so having a company helps us stay organized. We deal with all sorts of local crops. Most of our time is spent out on the ground, checking on the plants or talking to the other farmers in the village. We aren't really office people, so if you come by the address, you might just find us talking shop or moving supplies around. The weather in West Garo Hills can be a bit much sometimes, but we are used to it by now. We don't have any big marketing plans or anything like that. We just want to make sure our produce gets where it needs to go and that everyone gets a fair shake. It’s a simple life focused on the soil and the seasons. Being in Meghalaya, we have to work with what the land gives us. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. There is always a lot to do before the rainy season starts.
