Varsha Unisex Salon

If you know the main road in Vikaspuri, you’ve probably passed by C 19 plenty of times. That’s where Varsha Unisex Salon is. It’s a straightforward place. We don’t have those big flashy signs that some of the newer shops have, but people know where we are. The traffic outside can get pretty heavy, especially during the evening rush, so you hear a lot of horns honking while you’re sitting in the chair. It’s a unisex spot, so we get everyone. It’s funny how the conversations change depending on who is in. One minute we’re talking about school exams with a teenager and the next it’s about the price of vegetables with someone’s grandmother. We have some old posters on the walls that have been there for ages. The chairs are comfortable enough, though they might squeak a little when you lean back. We mostly just keep things moving. We drink a lot of tea between customers, usually bought from the guy just down the street. It’s a local business through and through. Nothing fancy or corporate about it. We just open the shutters in the morning, sweep the front, and get to work. Delhi summers are tough, so we’re glad the fans work well. It’s just a normal part of life on the main road here. Most of our regulars are like family now after all these years of coming to this same spot.
