S. K. Tanks & Boilers

S. K. Tanks & Boilers is based over at B-461 in Meera Bagh, which is part of Paschim Vihar. It’s a residential and commercial mix around here, so we try not to be too loud, though working with metal tanks and boilers makes that difficult sometimes. We spend our time dealing with large steel structures. It takes up a lot of room, so the workspace is often quite cramped with half-finished projects. We’ve been in Paschim Vihar for a good number of years. It’s a busy neighborhood, and there’s always something going on outside. The work we do is pretty heavy. We’re moving steel plates around and using welding torches most of the day. It gets hot, especially when you’re working inside a tank. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles here. Our office is just a small corner with a couple of chairs and a lot of old ledgers and papers. Most people find us through word of mouth rather than any big advertisements. We just focus on making sure the welds are solid and the tanks don't leak. It’s a simple way of doing business, but it’s worked for us so far. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about the news or the local cricket scores. It’s just a normal workplace with people who know their trade and want to do a decent job.
