S D Confectionery

If you head over to Rajouri Garden, down in Raghuveer Nagar, you’ll find us at N-452. S D Confectionery has been a part of this block for a while. The shop is small and filled with all kinds of snacks and daily items. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars so people can see the candies inside. It’s mostly just me or one of the boys working the counter. The neighborhood is pretty tight-knit, so we hear all the local news. People come in not just to buy things, but sometimes just to chat for a minute while they wait for their change. The location is okay, but parking is a nightmare around here, so most of our customers come on foot from the nearby houses. We keep the inventory simple. If someone asks for something we don’t have, we try to get it for the next time they come in. The summer heat is the worst part because the shop gets really stuffy. We have a small fan but it doesn't do much. Sometimes we just sit on a stool outside the door to catch a breeze. We aren't looking to become some big chain or anything. We just like having our little spot here in Raghuveer Nagar. It’s a lot of small tasks, like checking dates on the packets or sweeping the front step. That’s our day, every day.
