Nice Retailbiz Technology Pvt. Ltd. is located up on the 6th floor of Shahpuri’s Tirath Singh Tower. It’s right there at C-58 in the Community Centre in Janak Puri. Being on the 6th floor means we spend a lot of time waiting for the elevators, especially during lunch when everyone in the building is trying to head out at once. Inside the office, it’s mostly just desks and a lot of computer screens. We deal with retail technology stuff, so there are always wires and different gadgets lying around that we are testing. It gets a bit cluttered sometimes. Janak Puri is a busy area, so there is always some sound from the traffic below, even though we are high up. We have a small pantry where we make tea, and that’s usually where we end up talking about what needs to be fixed on the software or which client called today. It’s not a huge corporate space with a lobby or a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the door lets people in. We just focus on the work at hand. Most days are quiet, just the sound of typing and the hum of the air conditioner. It’s a practical setup. We like being in this part of town because everything we need is close by. We don’t have fancy mission statements on the walls, just a calendar and some notes taped to the monitors. We just do our thing.
