Mayur Confectionary Shop

Mayur Confectionary Shop is tucked away in Krishan Mandir Wali Gali, at number 500 in Nangloi. It is a narrow street, and it can be quite a squeeze when the delivery bikes come through in the afternoons. We sell all sorts of small things, mostly snacks and sweets that the local kids like to buy after school. The shop is small, so we have to stack things up high on the shelves to make everything fit in the space we have. Being near the mandir means we see a lot of people passing by on their way to pray or coming back home. We open up early and stay open until late in the evening. It’s just a basic neighborhood shop. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. Sometimes we have a bit of a chat with the customers while they are picking out what they want from the jars. It gets dusty because of the road, so we are always wiping down the glass counters. We’ve been in this spot for years. The building is old and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it’s home to us. We handle everything ourselves, from ordering the stock to sweeping the floor at night. It’s just a normal way to earn a living here in Nangloi. Krishan Mandir Wali Gali is always busy, so there is never a dull moment. We just keep the snacks ready for whoever walks in.
