Matthiwala Sweets & Bakers

Being over at Punjabi Bagh West Avenue Road 45 & 46 means we see a lot of what goes on in the neighborhood. Matthiwala Sweets & Bakers has been a part of this specific stretch for a while now. It is a very busy road. There are always cars moving and people rushing to get somewhere. We mostly just focus on the baking and getting the sweets ready. It is a lot of hard work, to be honest. The ovens make the whole place get very hot and there is sugar on almost every surface. Some mornings are quiet and we can hear ourselves think, but by the afternoon, the pace really picks up. We have two units, 45 and 46, so there is enough space for us to move around. It still feels a bit crowded when we have a big batch of stuff coming out of the kitchen, though. People in Punjabi Bagh know this road well. It is definitely not the quietest spot in the city, but it is home for us. We do not do much fancy stuff here. We just make what people expect from a sweets shop and a bakery. Sometimes the traffic outside is so bad you cannot even cross the street without waiting forever. We just stay inside and keep our heads down. There is always a bit of flour on someone’s clothes. It is just a regular place at 45 & 46.
