Madan Marble & Paint House

Madan Marble & Paint House is at B 13 in Ganesh Nagar. We are right on Shivaji Marg, which is a very busy road. There’s always a lot of traffic, mostly trucks and vans going past. Because we deal with marble, there’s always a bit of white dust on the floor and even on the paint cans. It’s just something you live with when you work here. The shop at B 13 is a bit cramped because marble slabs take up a lot of room. We have them leaned against the walls, and you have to be careful when you walk around. It’s heavy work, moving the stone and the big containers of paint. My back usually aches a bit by the time we close up for the night. Ganesh Nagar is a busy neighborhood, and being on Shivaji Marg means we see a lot of different people. Some are just passing through, and others are locals we’ve known for years. We don't have a polished way of doing things. We just tell people the price and help them load their stuff into their vehicles. The building is a simple one, and we haven't done much to change it since we moved in. It’s a practical place for a practical job. We just keep going, day after day, surrounded by stone and color. It’s what we know how to do best.
