Kazari Apparels

Working out of a basement in Rajouri Garden has its own rhythm that you eventually get used to. You learn to recognize the sound of feet on the pavement above and the way the light comes in through those small, high windows. Kazari Apparels is tucked away at A-2/47, and if you aren't looking for it, you might walk right past without noticing. It gets a bit crowded down here when a new shipment comes in on Tuesday mornings. We have to move the heavy cutting tables around just to make room for the extra boxes. It's mostly just us and the constant hum of the machines. We spend a lot of time checking hems and making sure the buttons are on tight. It’s quiet enough down here that you can hear the tea seller calling out on the street outside. Rajouri Garden is a busy spot, so there is always something happening right above our heads. We’ve been in this basement for a bit now, and we know exactly which floorboards creak when you walk near the back. It isn’t some high-end showroom with bright lights and fancy chairs. It’s just where we do the work day in and day out. We have stacks of fabric in the corner that we need to get through by Friday evening. Sometimes the air gets a bit stuffy, so we open the door to the stairs. Most of the folks around here know us by now. We just focus on the clothes and try to stay ahead. It's a simple setup, but it works for what we do.
