Giriraj Sales & Confectioners

Our shop, Giriraj Sales & Confectioners, is located in Najafgarh at Nawada Bazar Hg 99. It’s a place that stays busy from morning until late at night. We sell all sorts of sweets, biscuits, and small snacks. The jars on the shelves are made of thick glass and they’ve been there for as long as I can remember. I work here with my cousins. We take turns at the counter. The street outside is always full of cows, bikes, and people walking to the temple. It gets very dusty in the summer, so we have to clean the glass counters every single hour. We have a small radio that plays old songs in the background. It helps pass the time when it’s slow. The kids from the local school come in around three o'clock and that’s when it gets really noisy. They all want something for five or ten rupees. We know most of them by their names. Sometimes we let them pay later if they are short on change. It’s a small community and we all look out for each other. We don't have a website or any of that modern stuff. We just have our shop and our regular customers. The sign outside is a bit crooked but we haven't had time to fix it. We just keep the lights on and the jars full for whoever walks through the door in the bazaar.
