Shri Ram Cement Products

We set up Shri Ram Cement Products out on the Washim-Shirpur Road, right near the Sonkhas area. Being close to the dam means we have a bit of a view, but mostly it’s just a lot of hard work with concrete and molds. It’s a heavy job, making cement items out in the open air. The wind blows across the road and kicks up a lot of dust from the bags we handle. We don’t have a big office building. Our work happens on the ground where the mixers are running. People driving toward Shirpur often see us working near the dam. It’s a good landmark for people to find the site. We spend most of our day getting our hands dirty and making sure the blocks or pipes come out okay. It isn't a glamorous business by any means. It gets really hot in the sun, especially during the peak of summer, so we take our breaks under the small tin shed we built. We’ve got a couple of old trucks that we use to move things around. The neighbors know us as the cement guys down the road. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just rely on people seeing what we make as they pass by. It’s a rough and tumble kind of life, but we like being outdoors near the water. We just keep making our products and hope the weather stays clear for the drying.
