Swamy Flour Mill

Swamy Flour Mill is located at H. No -2-207 in Nandha Nayak Thanda. If you live anywhere near Geesukonda or Warangal, you probably already know the sound of our machines running throughout the day. It’s a bit loud inside once we get the grinders going for the wheat or the chilies. We get a lot of people from around the village bringing in their big bags of grain on their cycles or just carrying them on their shoulders. The floor is usually covered in a fine layer of white flour or spice powder, no matter how many times we try to sweep it up. It’s been at this exact spot for a good while now. We don't really do much else besides the milling work. It’s a simple setup with the big heavy grinders and the bags stacked up against the back wall. Sometimes the power goes out in the middle of the day and we just have to sit around and wait, which actually gives us a good chance to talk with whoever is waiting for their flour. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons, especially when those motors have been running since early morning. We aren't trying to be the biggest mill in the district, just the one that’s open and ready when the neighbors need their grain turned into flour for their dinner. It’s hard work on the back, lifting those heavy sacks all day, but it’s steady and we like the work.
