Srinath Auto Services is located right at H. No -4-73/2, Rangampally, Laknepally. If you walk down the main lane, you’ll probably hear the sound of a wrench hitting a metal floor or the engine of a motorbike turning over before you actually see the sign. The workshop floor is almost always covered in a bit of oil, no matter how much we try to sweep it out in the evenings. Working with engines and tires is messy business, but that’s just how it goes here in Rangampally. Most of the folks who bring their vehicles in are people we’ve known for years. They drop by the house at H. No -4-73/2 and leave their keys, usually telling us about a strange noise their bike started making on the way back from the fields. We don't have those big computer machines to tell us what's wrong; we mostly just listen and look until we find the problem. It’s hard work on the back, especially when you’re leaning over a frame for three hours under the afternoon sun, but Laknepally is a quiet enough place that the work feels steady and honest. We keep a few spare parts in the corner and some old tires stacked against the wall. It’s not a polished showroom, just a place where things get fixed so people can get back to their day. It is a good way to stay busy and help the neighbors in the village.
