Sai Datha Hotel

Sai Datha Hotel is over at H. No -13-6-121 in Matte Wada. It’s not a hotel where you stay the night, just a simple place to get a good, filling meal. We start work very early in the morning, usually long before the sun even comes up. You can smell the sambar and the fresh dosa being made from way down the street. The kitchen is quite small but we keep everything moving. It’s a humble place with just a few benches and tables for people to sit at. Most of our customers just stand and eat quickly before heading off to their jobs. We don't have a big menu with fifty different items. We just do the basics like idli, vada, and meals, and we do them the way we learned from our parents. It gets quite hot and steamy in there during the lunch rush. We serve rice, dal, and whatever vegetable looks best at the market that morning. We don't use any fancy spices or secret ingredients, just the regular stuff you find in any kitchen in Matte Wada. Our customers are mostly laborers, office workers, and students who want something that tastes like home cooking. We’ve had some of the same people coming in every single day for many years. We know their names and exactly how they like their tea. It’s a noisy, busy little spot, but it is our life. We don't try to be fancy. We just want to make sure nobody goes away hungry.
