Sammaiah Hotel

Our place is at H. No -1-43 in Dasaripally, Narsampet. Calling it a hotel is just what we do here, but mostly it’s a spot for people to get some food and tea. We start very early when it is still dark to get the stove going. The smell of the tea and the snacks we cook fills up the whole street after a while. We have a few tables and chairs that have been here for years. They are a bit wobbly but they work fine. People from the village come in to sit and talk about their day or the weather. It gets very busy in the mornings and then again in the evening. We spend a lot of time washing dishes and cleaning the tables. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but nobody really minds. It’s a very local kind of place. We don't have a printed menu; people just ask what we made for the day. Sometimes we run out of things early if a big group comes through. My family helps out with the cooking and serving. It's a lot of work being on your feet all day, but we like seeing the regulars. The location in Narsampet is quiet enough most of the time. We just try to make decent food and keep the place running for everyone who stops by.
