Naresh Meseva

This is the Meeseva center in Khanapur, at house number 11-64. Most people in the village know where it is. I spend most of my day sitting behind the computer screen. Naresh Meseva is really just a small room where we help folks with their government forms and certificates. There is usually a queue starting pretty early. People come in for all sorts of things, like land records or income certificates. The printer is almost always running, and sometimes it jams, which is a headache. Khanapur is a quiet place mostly, but this office stays busy. I have to explain the same forms many times a day because the rules change or people get confused. It is just part of the job. There are a couple of plastic chairs for people to wait on, and a big desk for the computer and scanner. The internet can be slow sometimes, especially when it rains, so we just have to wait it out. It is not a fancy office with air conditioning. We have a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit. It is honest work helping people get their paperwork sorted so they can go about their lives. I have lived here a long time, so I know most of the people who walk through the door. We just get through the pile of applications every day and then close up.
