You can find us at H. No -17-92 right on Shivalayam Road in Gudur. It’s a busy road, which is good for an auto shop like Karnakar Auto Services. We get all sorts of vehicles coming through, mostly bikes and the occasional car that needs a quick look. The shop is usually covered in oil and grease, but that’s just how it is when you’re working on engines all day. I started this shop because I’ve always liked messing with tools. It isn't a clean, shiny showroom. It’s a workshop where we actually get our hands dirty. Sometimes parts are hard to find and customers have to wait a few days, which they don't always like, but we do what we can. The noise from the road is constant, and the heat in the summer makes the metal parts burn to the touch. We don't have fancy diagnostic machines; we just listen to the engine and figure it out. Most of our regulars are locals from Gudur who’ve been coming to us for years. They know we don't overcharge for simple fixes. My hands are usually stained black by the end of the day, but it’s honest work. We open early and stay until the last job is finished or it gets too dark to see. I have an old radio in the corner that plays the same few stations all day long. It helps pass the time when I'm working on a stubborn bolt. My son helps out after school sometimes.
