Buchamma Farming

We are based out of House Number 4-72 in Dasaripally, which is a small village near Narsampet. This isn't really a business with an office or a storefront. It is all about the land and the farming we do out here. Most days start long before the sun is even up. We head out to the fields to check on the crops and see how the soil is doing. Depending on the season, we might be planting seeds, weeding, or getting ready for the harvest. It is hard, physical work that leaves you tired by the end of the day. The weather is the biggest thing we think about, always looking at the clouds and hoping for rain at the right time. In the evenings, we sit out by the house and talk about the market prices and what needs to be done the next day. The house itself is simple, and we keep our tools and sacks of grain in the back shed. Life in Dasaripally is quiet, and everyone knows everyone else’s business. We have been farming this land for generations, so we know every corner of the dirt. It is not a glamorous life, and there are years when things do not grow well, but we just keep at it. It is just how things are for a farming family in this part of the country. We just do the work.
