St Anns Community College

St Anns is situated right by the Visakhapatnam Airport. You can see the planes taking off and landing from certain parts of the campus. It’s a very specific part of the city to be in. The college serves the local community here in Vizag. We aren't a massive institution with thousands of students; it feels much more personal than that. The building is simple and doesn't have much in the way of decoration. We have a few offices and classrooms where the daily lessons happen. Because we are near the airport, the area is always busy with traffic and people coming and going. The staff is mostly local women who have a lot of experience. We don't spend money on fancy brochures or advertisements. Most people just know us because we’ve been in this spot for a while. The students usually come from the neighborhoods nearby. They are here to learn practical skills that they can use to find work. During the breaks, things are quite relaxed. You might see a few people chatting in the hallway or sitting outside if the weather is nice. It’s a practical, down-to-earth place. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a community college doing its best to provide some education in this part of Visakhapatnam. We take things one day at a time and try to make sure everyone who comes through the door learns something useful.
