Gitam Medical College

Gitam Medical College is right up there in Rushikonda. Being near the coast means we get a nice breeze most days, which really helps with the humidity. The campus is quite large and we share some of the general space with other parts of the university, but the medical college has its own distinct feel. It is a lot of walking because the buildings are spread out. You see students everywhere with their stethoscopes around their necks, looking like they haven't had enough sleep. The labs are usually busy until late in the evening. We don't really have a fancy front office or anything like that. It is just a reception desk and some benches for people waiting. The walls have some older posters about anatomy and health guidelines that have been there for years. It is a very serious place because of the subject matter, but the atmosphere among the staff is actually quite relaxed. We have our own small cafeteria that serves a decent tea. Most of the work happens in the lecture halls and the wards. We don't use any big marketing words to describe the place. It is just Gitam Medical College in Rushikonda, and people know us for being here. It is a practical environment where the focus is on getting the students through their exams and making sure the hospital side runs okay.
