We run Shoriya Agro & Millet Products Farmer Producer Company Limited from Flat 401 in the Sai Srinivasa Residency, which is located in Visakhapatnam. It might seem a bit unusual to have a farmer producer company based in an apartment building like this one at 45-46-26/1/10, but it works for us. We focus a lot on millets and other agro products that come from the rural areas around the city. Being in the urban part of Vizag allows us to bridge the gap between the farms and the people living in the town who want better food options. The office is usually busy with people coming in and out, and we spend a lot of time on the phone or tracking shipments on our desks. It is not as quiet as the countryside, but we still have that connection to the soil through the farmers we work with every day. Millets are a big part of what we do because they grow well in this climate and do not need as much water as other crops. We are not some big corporate entity with a lot of layers. We are just a small team trying to manage the logistics of getting healthy grains from the fields to the residency and then out to whoever needs them. It gets a bit hectic during harvest time, and sometimes the lift in the building is slow, but we make sure the work gets done regardless of the small daily hurdles.
