Our place is at 1 Patel Road. It’s an easy address to remember, which is lucky for us. Paprika Oleo'S (India) Ltd. has been operating out of this building for a long time. The building itself is an older style, with thick walls that keep it somewhat cool, though we still need the fans going full blast in the summer. There’s a heavy gate at the entrance that squeaks every time it opens. We keep saying we’ll oil it, but we never seem to get around to it. Inside, it’s a mix of office space and storage. We have bags and containers stacked up, and there’s always a faint spicy smell in the air that you get used to after five minutes. We don't have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One minute you’re on the phone, and the next you’re helping load a pallet. It’s a bit messy sometimes, with papers scattered on desks and empty tea cups sitting around, but we know where everything is. We don't use any fancy management software; we mostly just use a big whiteboard and some notebooks. It’s a practical way to run things. We’ve had the same delivery drivers coming by for years, so we usually stop and chat for a bit. It’s just a regular workplace where we try to get things done right and go home to our families.
