Chillies Export House Ltd.

Our office is at 35, M.C. Chidambara Nadar Street in the Kamaraj District. It is a busy street and you can usually find our building by looking for the trucks parked out front. Dealing with chillies is what we do here at the export house. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the quality is okay before things get packed into sacks for shipping. The air around the office usually smells a bit spicy because of all the dried peppers being moved around. It’s not a fancy place at all. The desks are old and there are stacks of papers everywhere, but it’s how we keep track of the orders going out to different places. I’ve lived in this district for most of my life and being on this street feels normal now. We have a small staff of local people who know the business well. In the mornings, it’s mostly about checking the new arrivals and getting the manifest ready for the day's exports. Nothing is really automated here; we still do a lot of things by hand. Sometimes it’s a bit dusty and the heat in the summer can be tough, but we just get on with it. It’s an honest way to make a living and we have been at this same spot for quite a few years. We don't really do any big advertising, as most people around here already know who we are and what we do.
