We are based at 5, Patel Road, and we’ve been dealing in spices under the name A.N. Dhamodharan Spices for quite some time. The business has been in the family for a while, and we’ve kept the name because it means something to us. Patel Road is always busy, so there’s a constant stream of people and vehicles going past our door. We spend our days surrounded by the smell of different spices, which is something you never really get tired of. It’s hard work, though. Sorting, cleaning, and packing takes a lot of time and patience. We don’t take shortcuts because we know people can tell the difference. Our shop isn’t anything special to look at, just a place where we get the job done. We don’t have a big philosophy or a grand vision. We just want to sell good spices at a price that’s fair. Sometimes the market prices go up and down and we have to adjust, but that’s just part of the trade. We have a few loyal workers who have been with us for years, and they know the spices as well as we do. We don’t do much advertising; we mostly rely on people knowing who we are and where to find us on Patel Road. It’s a simple, straightforward business that doesn't need to be anything more. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily orders. We like it that way. There isn't much else to say.
