Srirain Hair & Gents Beauty Parlour

Our shop is located on Iti College Road in Ashok Nagar, Vijayawada. We are quite close to the Amma Kayana Mandapam, so we see a lot of action during the wedding season. Gents come in here to get cleaned up before a big event, wanting to look their best for the photos. The rest of the time, it’s mostly students from the college or people living in the nearby apartments. We called it Srirain because it sounded good, but really, it’s just a place for a shave and a haircut. I’ve got a couple of assistants who help when the rush starts around five in the evening. We keep the basins clean and the towels folded in the cupboard. It’s a practical space. There’s no fancy decor, just the essentials for grooming. I find that most men just want a place where they can relax for twenty minutes and walk out looking better. We talk about the weather, the local politics, or the new shops opening up down the road. It’s a social spot as much as a business. The floor is a bit old, and the chairs have some cracks in the leather, but they are comfortable. We’ve been here long enough that we feel like a permanent part of Ashok Nagar. Every morning I roll up the shutter and start the day the same way, waiting for the first customer.
