Sarathi

My name is Ashok, and I run things here in Vissannapeta along with a couple of others. The place is listed under my father Gopala Krishna’s name too. We are located at Door Number 9-289 on the A. Konduru Road. It’s a dusty stretch of road in the Krishna district, and you can see the fields not too far off. The building is simple, just a roof and some solid walls to keep the Andhra heat out. We don’t have any big signs or flashing lights, just a small board so people know they are at the right spot. A lot of the locals stop by just to say hello or ask for help with various things. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when the big trucks go past on the main road. Inside, we have some wooden chairs and a table where we sit and talk. The floor is easy to sweep because of all the dust that blows in from the road. We spend our days dealing with whatever comes through the door. It might be someone needing advice or just a bit of paperwork help. We’ve lived here all our lives, so we know everyone who passes by. It isn't a fancy office with a secretary; it’s just us doing what we do. The fan above the table wobbles a little, but it keeps the air moving well enough for us to work.
