Laxman Hair Style Saloon is located on Prakasam Road in Governerpet, Vijayawada. This part of the city has so much history and the streets are always packed with people and shops. Our place is right in the thick of it at postcode 520002. It is a small salon, and we have been operating here for many years now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they have character. We have the usual black chairs and a large mirror that runs along the wall. Governerpet is a place where everyone seems to be in a hurry, but once they sit in the chair, they finally slow down for twenty minutes. We talk about all sorts of things with the customers, from politics to family stuff. It’s more like a community spot than just a business. The water here is sometimes a bit hard, but we manage. We use simple towels and the same brand of soap we’ve used for a decade. It’s comfortable for us and for the men who come in. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just find us by walking down Prakasam Road. Most of our customers have been coming to us since they were young boys. Now they bring their own kids. It is nice to see the generations pass through the door. We just keep doing what we know how to do, one day at a time, without making any big fuss.
