Kanaka Durgamma Hair Salon

We are located in One Town, which is the older part of Vijayawada. You can find us near the Royal Hotel Center. It is a very busy area with lots of markets and shops nearby. The streets are narrow and there are always people moving around. Our salon is just a simple room. We have the basic setup for cutting hair. It is a bit cramped when more than three people are inside. We have been here for years and the walls have seen a lot of faces. We don't use any marketing tricks. People know where we are. The smell of the nearby food stalls sometimes drifts inside. It makes us hungry around lunchtime. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that spin fast. They make a clicking sound that we don't even notice anymore. People come here because it is convenient and we have been part of the neighborhood for so long. We know the names of most people who walk through the door. It is not like the big malls. It is more personal here. We just handle the hair and listen to the stories people tell. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud we have to raise our voices. But that is just how One Town is. It is a lively place to work every single day for us.
