Our office is at Door No. 44-1-7 on Canal Road. We are quite close to the Lockas area, so you can see the water moving by when the gates are open. It’s an old part of the city, and Amar Nath Charanji Lal & Co Pvt Ltd has been around for many years. Despite the "Pvt Ltd" in the name, we are just a group of people working in a very traditional way. The office has high ceilings and old wooden cabinets that are full of records going back decades. It smells a bit like old paper and ink inside. The street outside is always humming with activity. There are bikes and carts and people walking to the canal bank. It gets quite humid here because of the water, so the air always feels a bit heavy. We don't have a modern reception or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be sitting at a desk ready to talk. We take our tea breaks seriously, and usually, someone goes out to get a round for everyone in the middle of the afternoon. Our work is mostly about keeping track of shipments and talking to suppliers. It’s not a fast-paced environment, but we stay busy enough. We’ve seen the city change a lot around this canal, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. It’s just how we like it, steady and predictable. There are no fancy gadgets here, just people doing their jobs.
