Our group, Senkathir Farmer Producer Company Limited, operates out of Pichaikkal Patti. You can find us at house number 8/52 if you’re looking. This part of Chinnamarudurdharapuram Taluk is where we all live and work, so it made sense to set up here. We are just a bunch of farmers who decided it was better to work as one instead of everyone doing their own thing and struggling. It isn't always smooth sailing. Coordinating between so many different farms takes a lot of effort and sometimes we disagree on the small stuff. But the main goal is just getting our crops to market and making sure everyone gets a fair shake. We grow what the land allows. Some seasons are better than others, and you just learn to live with that. The building we use is pretty basic, just a place to store some records and have our meetings. We don't go in for anything flashy because that doesn't help the plants grow. Most of us have been in this area our whole lives, so we know the soil and the people around here pretty well. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights, especially during harvest time. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us, the farmers, trying to make a decent living from the land we’ve got. We take things as they come and try to help each other out when the work gets too heavy.
