You can find us at No. 1/10 on Velalar Street in Brammapuram Village. We go by the name Katpadi Collective Farming Farmerproducer Company Limited. Since we are right here in the Katpadi area of Vellore, most people just know us as the local farmers' group. 632014 is our postcode. We aren't a big, fancy company with a lot of employees. It is just us and a few helpers from the village. We use the building on Velalar Street to talk about seeds and what the market is doing this week. It’s usually a bit noisy with people coming in and out. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just talk to each other face to face. Farming is what we know, so that is what we stick to. The collective helps us buy things in bulk which saves us a bit of money. Every little bit helps when you are working the land. We have been here for years and we don't plan on going anywhere. It’s a straightforward way of doing things. We don't have any big plans to change the world. We just want to make sure our village stays strong and the crops are good every season. If you stop by, someone will probably offer you a seat and some water. It’s just how we are in Brammapuram. We work hard and we try to be fair with everyone. It is just a practical way to survive.
