Rajendran Steel Indl Works

We've been here at J.P. Street for a long while now. It's right near the Collectorate in Vellore, so it's not too hard to find if you know the area. We deal with steel works mostly. The shop gets really busy, especially in the mornings when the delivery trucks come by and block up the narrow lane. Most of our day is spent just handling whatever metal work people need for their local projects. We have some old machines that have been with us forever and some newer ones we picked up along the way. It’s definitely not a fancy place. Thendral Nagar is a good spot for us because people around here know us by name. Sometimes the heat in Tamil Nadu makes the workshop feel like an oven, but we just keep the big fans going and get through the work. My family started this, or maybe it’s just been so long that it feels that way. We just focus on the steel. If someone brings in a rough sketch or just explains what they want, we try to get it done as best as we can. The floor is usually covered in metal scrap and iron shavings. It's just a regular, working-class workplace. You won’t find a big corporate office here, just a small desk in the corner piled with bills and old notebooks. We use the address at No. 12 and that’s where you’ll see our gate. If you miss the turn by the Collectorate, the one-way streets make it a pain to get back. The guys here have been doing this for years.
