We are over in Nirala Nagar, specifically on Lane Number 11 in the Sigra area of Varanasi. Our spot is near the R S Montessori School. We do a lot of work with our hands here, creating different items that people use for various things. The workshop is usually a bit dusty and there are materials scattered all over the floor. It is a practical space where we can get messy without worrying too much. We spend a lot of time measuring, cutting, and putting things together. It is quiet for the most part, except for the sound of tools being used. Being in Sigra means we are right in the middle of a busy neighborhood, so there is always something happening outside. We don't have a big front office or a showroom, people usually just come straight to where we are working. It is a lot of repetitive work sometimes, making the same things over and over, but we try to keep the quality consistent. We’ve lived and worked in Varanasi for a long time, so we are used to the way things go here. Most of our work is for local customers who need something specific made. We just take it one order at a time and try to keep our tools sharp and our workspace organized enough to find what we need. It's hard work but we are used to the routine of it all now.
