S Dayal Spices

We’ve been here on Ghat Road for quite a while now. If you walk down towards Dashashwamedh Ghat, you’ll find us right near the main Varanasi Road area. It’s always busy around here with people heading to the river. We deal with spices mostly. The shop smells like cardamom and turmeric the moment you step inside. It's a small place, nothing fancy at all. We spend most of our mornings just sorting through bags and getting everything ready for the day. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, but that’s just life in this part of town. People from around the neighborhood stop by to get what they need for their cooking at home. We don't have a big team, just a few of us working together. We try to keep things organized but it gets cluttered when new stock arrives. The building is old and has its quirks. Dealing with spices means dusty hands and a lot of sneezing sometimes. We just do our work and go home. There isn't much more to it. We know the regulars by name and they know us. It feels right being in this spot. Most days are the same, just filling orders and chatting with folks who walk in. We keep our scales calibrated and make sure the bags are tied tight. It’s steady work and keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down over the ghats.
