Ethnic Aroma

You can find us in the Rathyatra area of Varanasi. Our place is actually on the floor above Reliance Jewellers, right across from the Kuber Complex. It is a busy part of the city, especially during the festivals when the streets get really packed with people. We spend our time working with different materials and items that have that local feel to them. The stairs up to the shop are a bit narrow, so you have to watch your step when you come up. Inside, we have things laid out on tables and shelves. It’s not a huge space, but we make the most of it. There is usually the smell of incense or just the general scent of the city coming through the windows. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who handle the day-to-day stuff like helping people find what they need or checking the stock. Sometimes the power goes out, which is pretty common here, so we keep some candles and torches handy. We open up in the morning after the local tea stalls start their business. Most of our customers are locals who live nearby or people visiting the Kuber Complex who see our sign and wander in. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but we like being a little bit above the street level where it is slightly less noisy than the road itself.
