Ms Red Chilli

You can find us over at the Sankat Mochan Crossing in the Lanka area of Varanasi. We are right near the Sankat Mochan Temple, which means it’s almost always crowded around our door. Varanasi is a busy city and Lanka is one of those spots where there is always something happening. We’ve got a small place here and we serve food that has a bit of a kick to it, which I guess matches the name Ms Red Chilli. It’s not a big fancy hall, just a regular eatery where students from BHU and pilgrims from the temple come to grab a meal. We have some tables but a lot of people just want something quick. The kitchen is small but we keep it busy from morning until late. We don’t really do any big advertising or anything, people just find us because we are right at the crossing. It can get pretty loud with the bells from the temple and the traffic outside, but that’s just life in Varanasi for you. We just try to keep the food consistent so people know what to expect when they come back. It’s a humble setup and we don’t pretend to be anything else. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a while and we like being right in the thick of things near the temple.
