We are situated right at Gandhi Chowk in Khojwa Bazar, Varanasi. If you are standing there, just look opposite Surabhi Misthan and you will see us. Being near a sweet shop is both a good and a bad thing because the smell of fresh jalebis is always floating over, making everyone hungry. The area is very traditional and always crowded with people going to the market or the temple. Our rooms are inside an older building with high ceilings. We have wooden benches that have seen a lot of use over the years. The noise from Gandhi Chowk is constant—horns, people shouting, and the bells from the rickshaws. You just learn to speak a bit louder. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just the usual fans. The walls have some damp spots from the last rainy season, but we’ve covered most of them with posters. It’s a very down-to-earth place. We spend our days teaching and then cleaning up the chalk dust. Sometimes we sit out on the steps in the evening when the bazaar is at its busiest. It’s a lively place to be. We don’t have any corporate protocols. If a parent wants to talk, they just walk in and we have a chat. It’s how things work in Varanasi. We are just a local spot helping out the neighborhood kids.
