Effort Coaching Center

You will find us over in Durgakund, right where the streets always seem to be crowded with students and rickshaws. Effort Coaching Center isn't one of those massive institutes that take up a whole building. We have just a couple of rooms where we put out benches and whiteboards for the kids. I started this place because I saw so many students struggling with their basic subjects and needing a bit of extra help after school hours. It gets pretty loud in here when the classes are changing over, but that energy is what keeps me going. The rooms aren't air-conditioned, just a couple of fans that we keep running all day long. We don't have any glossy brochures or sales people calling parents every day. Most of the kids come here because their older brothers or sisters came to us before. We just focus on the books and making sure everyone understands the lessons before they go home. Sometimes we stay late to help a student who is really having a hard time with a math problem or some science concept. It’s not a high-tech setup, just some chalk, markers, and a lot of practice papers. We’ve been in Durgakund for a long time now, and it feels good to see the students we taught years ago walking by as adults with their own jobs and lives and families around the neighborhood.
