Our address is a bit long and complicated, but the actual place is pretty straightforward. We deal with spices all day long, so there is always a layer of red or yellow powder on the equipment. It’s a small industrial setup where we spend most of our time grinding and blending. Pendeypur is a busy part of town, and we fit right in with the other workshops and businesses nearby. We don’t have much in the way of a front office, just a desk with a lot of papers and some samples of what we make. The building stays fairly cool because of the way the shadows fall in the afternoon. We have a couple of heavy machines that make a lot of noise, so we don't do much talking while they are running. It is a lot of physical work, lifting bags and moving things around the plot. We’ve been at this for a while and the routine doesn’t change much from one day to the next. We just turn up, do the grinding, and make sure everything is packed up before we head home. It is a basic way to make a living, and we like it that way. Most days we finish up around six o'clock.
