F.M. Carpets Exports (P) Ltd. Our office is in Raman Niwas, which is located in the Mahmoorganj area. It’s a decent-sized place that we’ve turned into our main base of operations. Since we deal with exports, a lot of our time is spent looking at shipping labels and talking to people on the phone about delivery schedules. The carpets come in from the weavers and we have to check every single one before they go out. It’s a lot of bending over and rolling out heavy rugs on the floor. Our backs usually ache by the end of the week. Raman Niwas isn't a modern office building; it’s more of a traditional house that we’ve adapted for the business. This means there are lots of small rooms and hallways filled with stacks of goods. We don’t have a marketing department or a fancy website team. We just have a few people who know the carpet business inside and out. Mahmoorganj is a good area to be in, and we’ve been part of the community here for quite a while. You can usually hear the sound of tape dispensers and the rustle of plastic wrapping as we get things ready for the containers. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. We just focus on getting the piles of carpets from our floor to wherever they need to go in the world.
