Brahmastra Academy

If you know the Sonia Police Chowki in Sigra, you basically know where we are. Brahmastra Academy is just right there on Sigra Road. It’s a typical Varanasi street, always something happening outside the door. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of benches and a big whiteboard that usually needs a better wipe. We open up early because the students like to get in before the sun gets too hot. There’s a specific smell of old paper and dust that you get in places like this. We don’t have a big reception area or anything, just a desk where one of us sits to answer the phone. Sometimes the phone rings too much, other times it’s quiet. We spend a lot of time printing out sheets and stapling them together. The ink always gets on my fingers and stays there all day. The location is handy for anyone living around the 221010 area. We’ve got a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. It isn't a silent place, you can hear the bikes and horns from the road clearly. It’s just a straightforward spot for classes. Nothing more, nothing less. Most students know the way by now. We just focus on getting the day's work done and making sure everyone has a place to sit. It gets crowded on some days, but we manage by moving the chairs around and making room for everyone who shows up.
