Down in Shivala, things haven't changed much in years. Agrawal Radio Company is right there at B-3/325, and if you know the area, you know how narrow those lanes get. We spend most of our mornings just dusting off the shelves because the Varanasi air is thick with everything. It’s a small shop, and sometimes it feels like we have more old parts than new ones, but that’s how it goes with electronics. People bring in things that haven't worked in a decade, hoping we can find a wire or a bulb that fits. We don’t have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. It’s just a place where you can hear the hum of the street and maybe some old radio playing in the back while we work. The Shivala crossing is always a mess of cycles and people, so it gets noisy. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit on the front step and talk to the neighbors until it comes back on. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the city; we just like fixing things and selling what people actually need for their homes. If you walk past the temple, you’ll find us easily enough. It’s just me and a couple of others here most days, drinking tea and waiting for the next repair job to come through the door.
