Mhadev Flour Mill

Out here in the GIDC area, specifically Phase 3, things are more industrial. Mhadev Flour Mill is located at A-1,2 on Industrial Area Road, right near the Bank of Baroda. It’s a dusty part of town, mostly because of all the trucks and the work going on nearby. Our mill fits right in. We aren't trying to look like a grocery store. It’s a workspace. We have the heavy-duty grinders that can handle a lot of volume. Most of our day is spent watching the machines and making sure the electricity is steady. Being near the bank is helpful for people who have errands to run while they leave their grain with us. The air in here always smells like toasted grain because the friction of the stones warms it up. It’s a dry heat, and you have to drink a lot of water. We don't do much talking. The machines are too loud for that anyway. You just see the same faces every week. They bring their bags, we do the grinding, and they head back to their factories or homes. The floors are concrete and stained with years of use. We don't have any fancy logos or decorations. Just the name on the front and the work getting done inside. It’s practical and it works for us and the people who live and work around the GIDC.
