Jyoti Som Chemicals

Jyoti Som Chemicals is over at C1-2702 in Phase-3 of the Gidc in Vapi. The air around here always has that industrial smell, and it’s something you just stop noticing after a while. Our unit is mostly filled with drums and large containers. It’s a hot place to work, especially during the summer months when the metal roofaks in all that heat. We wear heavy boots and gloves because you have to be careful when you’re handling this kind of stuff. The floor is concrete and has some patches where things have spilled over the years. We spend a lot of time checking the seals on the barrels and making sure the labels are clear. It isn't a place for sitting around much. Most of the staff is busy moving things with the hand trolley or checking the levels in the vats. We have a small cabin for the accounts, but even there, the sound of the nearby factories is always humming in the background. Vapi gets a lot of rain, and when it pours, the sound on the roof is so loud you have to shout to be heard. We keep things organized by color and size because it saves time when we’re in a hurry to load a truck. It’s hard work, and your clothes usually end up smelling like the warehouse by the end of the shift.
