About Arbuda Acid Chemical Co. – Chemicals in Valsad
Down at Plot No. 198/1 in the 2nd Phase, you’ll find us right across from the Paper Mill Ltd. Being near the paper mill means there’s always a lot of heavy traffic and the sound of big engines on our street. We handle acids and chemicals, so we have to be pretty careful with how we move things around. The yard is usually full of plastic carboys and glass bottles waiting to be filled for the next shipment. We wear heavy boots and gloves all day, and it can get pretty sweaty inside the shed during the summer. It’s a straightforward operation. We mix the batches, test them to make sure they are right, and then get them ready for transport. The floor is made of thick concrete that’s seen a lot of spills and wear over the years. We aren't interested in being fancy; we just want the chemicals to be stable and the containers to be secure. Sometimes the orders come in all at once and we have to work late under the old fluorescent lights to get everything finished. We know most of the truck drivers who come by, and we usually have a quick chat while they wait for their paperwork to be signed. It’s a gritty job, dealing with acids and the heat of the second phase, but it’s what we’ve always done. We just lock up when we're finished and head out.
