My office is tucked away on the second floor of Shalimar Chamber. If you know the area behind Jubilee Baug, we’re right there in the middle of things. It’s an interesting part of Vadodara, full of old buildings and narrow streets that have a lot of history. Being behind the gardens means it’s a bit more peaceful than the main road, though you can still hear the city moving outside. I’ve been in this spot for quite some time. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, but you get used to them after a few trips. Inside, the office is pretty basic. I have my desk, a few cabinets for all the paperwork, and a couple of extra chairs for visitors. I like the light that comes through the windows in the morning. Most of my work involves meeting with local people and helping them navigate the various property matters they have. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important, and I take it seriously. I don’t have any fancy signs or big advertisements. Most people hear about me through friends or family. Jubilee Baug is a great landmark, so I usually just tell people to head that way and then look for the chamber building. It’s a comfortable place to work, and I enjoy the daily rhythm of the neighborhood. It feels like a real part of the city’s heart. I think working in a place like this keeps you grounded.
